Meet Our Team: 30 Seconds with Marisa Yamane

Where were you born?

I was born on Oahu, at the Kapiolani Medical Center.

What is your education background? 

I graduated from Iolani School and from U.C.L.A., with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

What do you love about storytelling?

I love being able to share my experiences and teach others in a way that’s relatable and memorable. I love meeting new people and helping to tell their stories, and I enjoy being able to simplify complex topics so that everyone can understand. I love the challenge of writing a story in a way that keeps others interested and engaged.

What are you up to these days?

Lately I have been spending my time learning new skills.

I love to travel and have visited more than 50 countries. Our last international trip was in March 2020 – to Jordan, Qatar, Morocco, and England – and I can’t wait till we can travel freely to other countries once again.
