Meet Our Team: Mike Soraoka, Videographer

Makakilo native Mike Soraoka is a graduate of Kapolei High School with a bachelors degree in Pastoral Leadership from Pacific Rim Christian College.  His love for videography began in college while working as the manager for his church’s bookstore. What started for him as playing around on iMovie, turned into a fascination of the magic that can be created with the camera. Within a matter of months, Mike went from bookstore manager to video editor, and the rest, as they say, is history!  

The process of taking something raw and crafting it into a powerful and engaging video is what Mike loves most about videography. 

“Getting to witness an audience watch one of my videos for the first time, seeing their eyes light up and hearing all of the "oohʻs and ahhʻs" puts a big smile on my face.” - Mike

Video is just one outlet for Mike’s creativity. In his spare time, he loves to build things. “I can spend hours out on my lanai covered in saw dust,” Mike says.

An interesting fact about Mike? “I’m a bird guy,’” according to Mike. “You’ve got your cat people, and your dog people, but I’m a bird guy! I have a 10-year-old bright green parrot named Rio, but I like to call him my green chicken.”

On October 10th, Mike and his wife, Krystal welcomed their first child into the world: daughter, Audree. Congrats Mike & Krystal!!!
